Hello third grade families!
This week in our Reading/Writing block we will be working with words that have the /er/ sound, spelled ur, ir, er, and or. We will also be practicing past, present, and future verb tenses and learning to identify character traits in The Extra Good Sunday, a selection from Beverly Cleary's Ramona series. We will wrap up our current Social Studies unit on local government, and learn about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In Math we will be reviewing measurement, time and graphing in preparation for our unit test on Thursday. In Religion we continue our chapter on the Gospels, and in Science we will be reading about kinds of simple machines. The MAP testing window begins this week, so we will also spend time reviewing basic skills and vocabulary in a variety of subjects. It will be another busy week in third grade!
