Dear First Grade Parents and Families,
It's hard to believe that the end of the school year is here! This year has flown by, and I'm proud of how hard the first graders in 1B have worked. I love teaching this age group because it always amazes me to see how quickly they learn and grow.
Parents often ask me what they can do over the summertime to help their student be prepared for the next school year - my answer is to READ READ READ! Reading everyday is the best thing you can do to help your child maintain and improve their skills. Students can visit their local library to look for new titles and explore their interests; The Everett Public Library as well as the Sno-Isle Libraries offer prizes for participating in their summer reading programs.
Finally, I have to thank all of the parents, grandparents, and other family members for all you have done to support your student's learning this year. You have chaperoned field trips, put on class parties, donated supplies, helped with nightly homework and reading, and much, much more! You are such an important part of your child's education and of our loving and supportive school community. It's been my pleasure this year to have been a part of it too!
I hope you have a wonderful, safe, and relaxing summer vacation.
